A good promotional video shows what makes your brand, products, or services unique. That is why more and more brands are deciding to create promotional videos to publish them later on their websites, social media, and use them in advertisements. In this case study, we show several examples of how we created promotional videos for our clients.  

Preparing for a promo video – where do we start?

Before we turn on the cameras, we have to discuss the details of your video. We start our preparations by getting to know your company, what you do, whether you sell services or products, and what makes your company unique. This helps us later in the creative process and coming up with ideas for your promo video. All of this is necessary to create a promotion video that fits your brand and your needs. 

Let’s move on to the examples.

When preparing for the production of this promotional video, we had to take into account that we will be recording the video in 2 different formats (vertical and horizontal) and that it will be in 3 different languages. So we had to plan everything very well and make sure that each shot would also be perfect for the social media version. 

In this promo video, we had to show the spaces where training takes place, but also the team that creates the company. Team smiles, machines in action, creative edits – these were the main points of this video.

What did the recordings look like?

We arrived at the location in the morning and started by preparing the equipment and discussing the last details with the team. The scenes took place in various places, which meant that we had to readjust the lighting and equipment for each scene and then record several takes. Just setting up the machines for some scenes took quite a bit of time. That is why the recordings were divided into two days.

In one day, we recorded the most complex shots and voice-overs in three languages. On the second day, we recorded the rest of the shots with a smaller crew. 

In post-production, we also added various animations and transitions to give the video a modern look. In the end, we produced vertical and horizontal versions for each of the three languages.

Promotional video for a company specializing in complete bathroom renovations in the Netherlands

The main goal of this video was to show a complex bathroom renovation, and to showcase the service that the company offers: from design, through the selection of appropriate materials and accessories, to a total bathroom renovation.

In one recording day, we visited various locations in Hoorn, where we took shots of bathrooms at different stages of renovation. We recorded additional shots with actors in the showroom. Here, we also recorded shots showing the showroom and the assortment. After that we recorded several versions of the voice-over in different tones, so that we can choose the best one for the video. 

Production of a promo video in a restaurant for an accounting company

If you watched this video without sound, you would think it was an advertisement for a restaurant. But in fact, it is a video about the services offered by an accounting company. The owner of the company came to us with this creative idea, and we immediately loved it!

We received the voice-over text and ideas from the client. Our task was to creatively show this in the camera lens. We described all the scenes in detail in the script. The recordings took place in a restaurant. Upon arrival, we set up the scenery, prepared the equipment, and rehearsed the entire script. 

Here, a lot depended on the owner, who had to learn the text and act in front of the camera. So we did a few rehearsals and recorded several takes. In these shots everything had to be smooth and there was no room for even the slightest mistakes. It was a very intense day of recording. But we managed to record everything in one day, finishing the recordings before 6 p.m.  

How to make good use of a promo video?

Once you receive the video, make sure to use it to its full potential. Add the video to your YouTube channel or Vimeo profile, and then be sure to add it to your website. 

Share it on social media. You can set this video as a pinned post so that everyone who visits your profile can see it right away. But also set up video ads on social media! Reach out to people who should get to know your company. 

If you are promoting your company at a trade fair, you can display this video on a tablet or laptop at your stand. Now that you have this video, make the most of it!
